About this space

At Remuera Baptist Church, we love to invite the community to use our range of spaces for classes, meetings, concerts, community events, and other functions.

The lounge is an 11.9m x 7.8m space with 7 round tables (seating 6 each) previously set up. It is great for smaller meetings, workshops, and functions and is attached to a large commercial kitchen. Tables and chairs can be moved to suit your requirements, but they must be arranged before vacating the premises. Please note that no alcohol can be consumed on the premises.

Rules

Please note that the Remuera Baptist church Spaces are only available for community events (not commercial events), and RBC will accept or decline all bookings.

Space Rules:

  1. No alcoholic beverage can be served or consumed on the property.

  2. No smoking on the property.

  3. You are responsible for all breakages that occur during your use. Breakages or any damage must be reported to our Property Manager.

  4. The reasonable behaviour of all persons and ensuring that no excessive noise occurs.

  5. Ensuring that nothing is attached to the walls of the auditorium or lounge.

  6. Ensuring cleanliness when vacating the premises, i.e., all the tables wiped down and the floor clean, the kitchen tidy, dishes washed and put away, rubbish removed and taken away, and upstairs and downstairs toilets left clean. Spaces must be left arranged as they were found.

  7. Vacating premises promptly at the time stated.

  8. Ensuring that the premises are secure when vacating the building, i.e., locking the doors, shutting the windows, and turning off the lights, heaters, and appliances.

  9. For regular users, prompt payments are appreciated per arrangement with the office administrator.

  10. No one is to use any of the audiovisual or sound equipment in the main auditorium or lounge without the approval of an RBC technician.

  11. RBC accepts no liability for damage to or loss of property stored on our premises. The user is responsible for insurance for such property.

  12. A basic first aid kit is located in the kitchen.

  13. Please familiarise yourselves with the location of fire alarms and Fire Action notices throughout the facility. In the event of a fire, please call 111 immediately and evacuate the building. The evacuation meeting point is in the car park.

  14. Bond prices for hiring are event-dependent and will be issued at the church's discretion, agreed upon by the mutual parties.

  15. RBC reserves the right to amend these conditions of use.

Additional details

Host's Cancellation Policy
100% refund on cancellations up until 14 days before your booking. After that, there are no refunds on cancellation.
Parking and Public Transport Information

There is a car park attached to the church that is available for use, and there is also a large amount of roadside parking.

However, our resource consent stipulates that the car park next to the church is reserved for the sole use of our kindergarten and childcare during certain times of the day, Monday through Friday, as displayed on the sign outside. These times are 8-9:30am, 12-12:30pm, and 2:30-3:45pm. Therefore, our users cannot enter or exit the car park during these times.
