A cherished community, The Danish House has been the home of The Danish Society Auckland since 2000, with facilities for meetings, dances, and film nights. The multiple rooms cater to event needs, from workshops to large parties. The Danish House's welcoming environment and community spirit make it a place for celebrating, learning, and enjoying each other's company.

This space contains 3 different areas that can be booked independently.


About this space

The Danish House in Penrose, Auckland, offers versatile spaces for hire, perfect for a wide range of events.

Hall

The spacious hall is ideal for larger gatherings such as concerts, weddings, birthday parties, funerals, training workshops, and dances. The 16.5 x 12-meter hall features a specially designed dance floor, a stage area, and a stereo system with a wireless microphone. A projector and a 100-inch screen are available for an additional charge. The hall comfortably accommodates up to 100 people seated with tables, or up to 200 without tables, and is fire-rated for up to 250 people.

Adjacent to the hall is a fully equipped kitchen, available for use at no extra charge, perfect for making coffee and tea. In-house catering options are also available, with more information available at Danish Delicacy. The hall opens up to outdoor spaces, both grassed and paved, providing additional areas for mingling or activities. The venue is wheelchair accessible and includes tables and chairs.

Library Room

For smaller gatherings, such as meetings, workshops, social clubs, or presentations, the meeting room offers a more intimate setting. The space is equipped with tables and chairs for up to 24 people and includes a whiteboard and projector with a screen. The room is air-conditioned and filled with natural light, ensuring a comfortable and productive environment.

This room also includes access to the kitchen for added convenience, along with a private garden space for a peaceful retreat. Like the hall, this room is wheelchair accessible. Off-street parking and restrooms are available for all guests.

Both spaces provide the option to hire a Baby Grand Piano for an additional fee, perfect for adding a special touch to your event.

  • Leave the hall as you found it and clean the kitchen if used, or add the additional cleaning fee to your booking.

  • Do not use or touch the Piano unless you have paid to use it for your event.

  • Please report all breakages on the day of your booking.

  • Book enough time to set up & clear down your event.

Host's Cancellation Policy
100% refund on cancellations up until 7 days before your booking. After that, cancel and get a 50% refund.
Parking and Public Transport Information

Hire of the hall comes with 20+ off-street car parks, subject to availability and other bookings at the house at the same time.
