Centrally located at 197 Scarborough Beach Road, Mount Hawthorn Lesser Hall is a modern community facility nestled in Braithwaite Park, making it perfect for social gatherings, community events and more.
Mount Hawthorn Lesser Hall features a large function space catering for up to a max capacity of 157 people, a spacious kitchen complete with fridge, oven, stovetop, microwave and easy access to Braithwaite Park Nature Play Area.
Restrooms and accessible toilets are located within the building, which includes reverse cycle air-conditioning and ceiling fans.
The space includes approximately 35 trestle tables and 129 chairs available for use. No other items supplied including but not limited to cutlery, crockery, cleaning, cooking items and utensils.
Braithwaite Park is a partially-fenced outdoor space featuring a large nature playground designed for 10-14 year olds, as well as a more traditional playground suited to younger children. There is also a barbecue and outdoor toilets available. Hirers are free to use these facilities, however they are not included in the hire of Mount Hawthorn Lesser Hall and may be used by the public. Areas within Braithwaite Park are available for separate hire if you wish to utilise these spaces.

Accessibility: Mount Hawthorn Lesser Hall is fully accessible and includes accessible toilets that can be accessed via a wheelchair lift. Please note there is a gate located between the ACROD bay and the entrance to the hall which users may require additional assistance to open. Please be aware that the kitchen area is not fully wheelchair accessible

OVEN USE: The oven at Mount Hawthorn Lesser Hall may require long matches or a long lighter to be lit, hirers must supply. Please turn gas valve on for use, and off after use. Instructions are available at the hall.

Rules

Keys can be collected from Beatty Park Leisure Centre one business day before the booking during business hours. Keys must be returned within one business day after the booking. Photo ID is required. The hirer is responsible for collecting the keys during business hours. No refunds for failure to collect on time. If someone else is collecting the keys, a written request must be submitted to the bookings team in advance
Bookings must include setup and pack-down time
Bring your own cleaning supplies. Leave the facility clean and tidy, including mopping, wiping surfaces and removing all rubbish and personal item
Do not use drawing pins, nails, screws, adhesive tape, or blue tack for decorations. Helium balloons are not allowed.
Noise must stop by 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9:00 PM Sunday to Thursday. Noise must stay within the facility. Noise complaints will result in a breach of terms and a penalty fee. Ranger teams regularly inspect the facilities.
Bouncy castles are not allowed
Cooking devices are not allowed
Smoke machines are not allowed

Do not leave or store items in the facility
You are responsible for locking up and ensuring the facility is secure when exiting
