Hall for hire with stage and kitchen in Remuera

St Aidan’s Church is in the heart of Remuera and is happy to provide affordable friendly spaces which serve our local and wider community. Our main hall is a beautiful, multi functional space with a glorious high vaulted ceiling, wood paneling and lots of light. It has a sprung wooden floor and a large raised stage, lighting and sound system. A floor plan with full dimensions is above, with our photos.

PLEASE NOTE: You must allow set up time and pack/clean up in your booking. Billing is charged from the time you access the Hall to the time you exit, and interruption of other Hall hirers will result in penalty charges and exclusion from hiring our premises in the future.

The hall is a great space for many different types of functions and events. We recommend using it for performances, dance or exercise classes, quiz nights, celebrations, prize-giving, exhibitions or markets, community gatherings, examinations, kids activities and kids parties.

Catering and Alcohol

The hall has a kitchen which has an entrance and service hatch which connects to the hall. To use this as part of your booking, there is an additional flat fee of $20. Select this option at checkout. The kitchen includes: stove, oven, microwave, dish drawer and fridge. There is a limited amount of cutlery and crockery but we recommend that you bring in what you need for your event. The kitchen must be left as you found it, and you must book enough time to ensure it's clean and ready for the next user. All rubbish and recyclables must be removed from the site. There is no tea or coffee, so please bring your own supplies.

You're welcome to bring in your own external caterer.

You may serve beer or wine but no spirits - this includes premix cans and bottles. You cannot sell alcohol without a licence.

Kid's parties

Kids parties for children of all ages are welcome here. You are welcome to have sports or craft activities. Please be aware there is a mandatory $50 charge for vacuuming and mopping the hall for any kids party. We allow a maximum of 50 kids at a party in the hall.

Music, Sound & Presenting

You're welcome to have a band or DJ and have amplified sound until 10:30pm, which is when we have noise restrictions. The stage has room for live performers and there are speakers and a sound system behind the stage area. There is a white screen which drops down next to the stage. You will need to bring your own projector. There is a lighting rig you are welcome to use.

Accessibility

The hall does have a wheelchair accessible entrance, but not all areas are set up for wheelchair access e.g. the closest toilets are behind the stage and not easily accessible. There are two disability car parking spaces.

Nearby

We are a 5 minute walk from Remuera village which has plenty of great coffee shops and eateries. We're also close to Mount Hobson, if you want to stretch your legs and get a 360 degree view of Auckland.

Covid-19

While there are no specific requirements regarding masks or vaccinations, we do ask that you are maintain social distancing and open doors for increased airflow wherever possible. If someone in your group tests positive for Covid-19 after your booking we also request that you let us know, to allow for additional sanitization to be undertaken, and we can alert subsequent users to reduce their risk of infection.
