About this space
A true design emblem for this urban development, Bowden Park has become a community landmark. Part of the flagship complex, adjacent to Plant 4, the park offers a sustainable, active space to highlight the continual ‘greening’ of the area previously known for its industry.
Connected pathways, seamless entry to Plant 4 with its eateries, bar and market, the park has become a meeting place in the city fringe location. Residents and visitors find opportunities to relax and be active in equal measure; the park comes complete with shaded dining spaces and barbecues, children’s water play space, and an ongoing project to incorporate thoughtful sculptural signage which reflects historical elements of this place.
From the traditional Kaurna land-owners, through the 19th century ‘town’ founders, to mid 20th century industry, to the 21st century repurpose and greening, the space remains far from static as it evolves through a greening process, and brings a diverse community together.
Bowden Park features;
Long shelter with picnic setting
Barbecue facilities
Small play area with water jets set into flooring
Bicycle racks and repair station
Foosball table
Urban art/ sculpture & creative signage
