Noise: As we are in a residential area, we kindly ask that noise and music levels remain moderate and contained within the hall. Please keep the front door closed to help maintain a peaceful atmosphere for our neighbours. We also ask that you be mindful of noise when leaving the venue and using transport. Music should be turned off by 10:30pm to ensure a respectful environment for all.
Parties: We’re happy to host parties for young children at the hall. However, due to Scouts Victoria guidelines, we are unable to accommodate parties for individuals aged 12 to 30, as well as hens or bucks' parties. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Non-Smoking: To maintain a healthy environment, the hall and all outdoor areas are a smoke- and vape-free zone. Please refrain from smoking or vaping anywhere on the premises.
Fires, Open Flames & Pyrotechnics: For everyone’s safety, we cannot allow fires, open flames, or pyrotechnics of any kind at the hall.
Animals: Animals are not generally permitted on the premises, with the exception of assistance animals, which are always welcome. If you need to bring an animal for any other reason, please let us know in advance.
Cleaning: We ask that hirers take care to clean up after their event and return the hall to its original condition. This includes removing decorations, balloons, and any adhesives, and cleaning all used items. The kitchen should be cleared of food, and all furniture should be put back in its original arrangement. Cleaning supplies are available for your convenience, and we appreciate your help in keeping the space tidy.
Property Modifications & Damage : Importantly, all hirers must strictly adhere to ensuring no changes or modifications to the building and grounds are made under any circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to signage, hanging items, painting, nailing, flyers, removal of Scouting artefacts and engaging subcontract trades or services etc. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our facilities tidy and accessible for all users.
"Gunya" Access : The "Gunya" (outdoor open area brick building) is exclusively for St Kilda Scout usage only and is not to be used or accessed for any other purpose without prior agreement. Charges may apply.
Please note : Failure to comply will result in a fee deducted from the security deposit. Please be aware that cleaning must be completed by midnight for Saturday bookings due to Sunday morning reservations.
Rubbish Removal: Please ensure all rubbish is disposed of properly, including any litter from outdoor areas. Kindly place all rubbish in the designated wheelie bins on the side of the building, following recycling and waste guidelines.
We also welcome donations of 10c containers to the Scout group—if you'd like to contribute, please leave them in the tub provided in the kitchen (please arrange this in advance).
Fees & Charges : Your bond will be returned after your event, provided everything is in order. Thank you for helping us maintain a welcoming space for all!
