About this space
1st Elwood Scout Group is at the heart of the Elwood community. We are a thriving local community group focused on supporting our children to develop into self-reliant and responsible members of the community. Scouting emphasises nature, outdoor adventure, citizenship, leadership, teamwork and of course, having fun!
The group's facilities are open for community use, supporting our fundraising efforts. The main hall serves as a perfect spot for both regular meet-ups and festive occasions.
The hall is available for hire, It spans roughly 11m by 9m and boasts:
* A polished timber floor
* Temperature control with both heating and cooling options
* A kitchen stocked with essential utensils, a refrigerator, microwave, and oven
* 8 trestle tables, each seating eight, complemented by about 40 chairs
* Inclusive toilet facilities for all genders, including a unisex option
* Wheelchair access through the main side entrance
* Fixed bench seating along the western wall of the hall
* An outdoor area featuring a timber deck, pergola, and a lawn
This versatile space is ideal for a variety of events, including community gatherings, dance lessons, birthday parties, educational workshops, and relaxation sessions.
Surrounded by a lively array of shops and eateries, the Scout Hall is conveniently located amidst some of the finest cafes and baristas in the City of Port Phillip, providing a plethora of options for dining and refreshments after your events.

Rules
Parties for young children are welcome at our venue, but we are unable to accommodate teenage parties for ages 12 to 30 due to Scouts Victoria regulations. Additionally, hens and bucks' parties are not permitted.
As a non-smoking venue, we prohibit smoking and vaping on all areas of the Scout Hall premises.
Located in a residential neighbourhood, the 1st Elwood Scout Hall requires that noise and music levels be moderate and confined within the hall, with the front door kept closed. We ask hirers to be mindful of our neighbours when leaving the venue and using transportation.
Please note that music must cease by 10:30pm.
Hirers are responsible for cleaning the hall and restoring it to its original condition. This includes removing all balloons, decorations, and adhesives, and ensuring that any used items are cleaned and returned to the provided storage areas.
Furniture must be reorganized as originally found, and all food items must be cleared from the kitchen and refrigerator. Floors should be swept and mopped, and kitchen surfaces cleaned. Necessary cleaning supplies are provided.
Restocking toilet paper and hand towels from the kitchen supply is also required.
Outdoor areas must be cleared of litter and cigarette butts.
Failure to comply will result in a fee deducted from the security deposit. Please be aware that cleaning must be completed by midnight for Saturday bookings due to Sunday morning reservations.
All rubbish must be taken off-site; leaving waste at the curbside is not allowed. We suggest bringing sturdy garbage bags for disposal.
10c Containers can be left behind should you wish to donate them to the scout group in the tub provided in the kitchen.
Additional details
There is no carpark at 1st Elwood. There is limited parking in Ormond Rd. Surrounding streets are often restricted to permit parking.
