Art Shows & Exhibition Bookings - 10 Days
About this space
This space is for booking art shows and exhibitions for ten consecutive days only. For all other booking requests please book the "Canning Bridge Community Space".
The Canning Bridge Community Space is a spacious, light filled room. It can fit up to 50 people.
What City of Melville (COM) provides:
· Hanging track
· Wires & hooks (Stored in white cupboards nearest kitchen)
· 4 White plinths
· 5 black tablecloths (Stored in white cupboards nearest kitchen)
· Signage
· Tables and chairs
· Kitchenette with sink, fridge and kettle. Minimal provision of glasses, cups and saucers.
· Two size ladders (Stored against wall right of orange box)
· Vacuum
· Up to three hours of assistance with installing artwork (if required)
The artist(s) responsibilities:
· Invigilating gallery attending for length of exhibition
· Handling of sales (COM take 0% commission)
· Putting out and collecting signage
· Food and drink for openings/events (liquor licence required for serving alcohol: $35 from Civic Centre)
· Plates, extra kitchenware as required.
· Please use blue painters’ tape only to stick labels to walls (no blue tac)
Pack up procedure:
· Wires can be left hanging on the walls, remove and return hooks to cupboard
· If tablecloths have been used, please wash and return to the COM
· Stack chairs and pack-away tables to a neat position
· Dispose of rubbish –use FOB key hanging in kitchen (refer to handbook for map of location)
· Vacuum carpet (if required), please ensure vacuum is clean/emptied after.

Rules
By confirming this booking you agree that:
· The facility is only used during the times specified above
· The facility is left in a clean and tidy state
· Set up and pack away/clean up is done within the time of your hire period, not outside of the booking time
· Children are supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
· You are mindful of noise levels emanating from the facility
· You will supply your own first Aid Kit, as there are none on site
· All doors are kept clear - to enable clear access in an emergency, do not put any furniture or other items in front of any door in the Centre.
· You report any damage that you notice on entry to the venue, and any damage that occurs during your session.
· When leaving: you turn off the lights and air conditioner, pack furniture away, turn on alarm and lock door and put keys back into the key lock box
· No private events or parties will be approved with the exception of children’s birthday parties (Under age 10)
· Booking’s for children’s birthdays parties (under 10 years old) must be completed by 5.30pm and no alcohol is to be brought on site
· Public Liability: Commercial ventures, sporting clubs, church groups and hirers with more than 12 casual bookings under the same account are required to hold public liability insurance. Please upload a copy of your insurance cover to your spacetoco account
· Casual bookings that are cancelled after the booking has been accepted will be charged a non-refundable guest booking fee of 2.5%.
· All Centre users agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City against any loss, liability, damage, or demand, arising from connection with the booking application and/ or use of the facilities. In case of any accident or injury, be aware that you are personally responsible for any cost that may be incurred as a result, as the hirer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Melville against any loss, liability, damage, claims or demand arising from or in connection with the booking application or/and use of the facilities
Emergencies:
· Make yourself familiar with the Fire Exits and Emergency Evacuation Procedure (located near the Exit doors).
· You are responsible for ensuring the safe evacuation of all persons in the room they have hired.
