Some additional camping areas are available along the coastal strip to the north and south of the main campground. These areas are only available to campers travelling by high clearance 4x4 vehicle with self-contained accommodation, with toilet. The Sandy Cape Recreation Park is a Shire of Dandaragan campground and recreation nature reserve.
Access to this beautiful, idyllic campground is via a well sign-posted sealed 2WD road 12 km north of Jurien Bay.
The Park is popular with campers and day visitors for its protected, white sandy beaches, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and sandboarding the dunes.

Rules
General Rules
Bookings are required for camping anywhere in the Sandy Cape Recreation Park reserve.
Unlicensed off-road vehicles are prohibited throughout the reserve.
General waste bins and wastewater dump points are located at the information bay at the entry to the reserve.
Respect the Fragile Coastal Environment
Always lower tyre pressures before driving on the beaches and tracks.
Do not drive over vegetation or remove vegetation.
Do not create your own track.
Campfires
Permitted 1 April – 31 October (excluding Easter long weekend).
Must be contained in an enclosure and controlled at all times.
NOT permitted when the Fire Danger Rating for the Lesueur District is “HIGH” or above, during a Total Fire Ban, or when instructed by a Fire Control Officer.
NOT permitted on the beach or in any access way throughout the reserve.
BYO wood - do not collect from the reserve or road verges.
Respect Other Campers
Quiet time from 10 pm.
Dogs must be on a lead at all times and all waste must be disposed of responsibly.
Generators are allowed between 8 am and 8 pm only.
North and South 4x4 Only Camping Areas
Campers must have a self-contained chemical toilet.
Campers must take all rubbish and human waste out of the reserve and dispose of responsibly.
Track conditions change regularly. 4x4 required at all times.
Additional details
Campers should park at their designated campsite. Any vehicles in excess of the allowed number for the site should park in the designated public parking areas.
Day visitors should park in the designated public parking sites.
