About this space
MAP: Sandy Cape Main Campground
The Sandy Cape Recreation Park is the jewel in the crown of the Turquoise Coast for those seeking an eco-friendly camping experience.
Just north of Jurien Bay, the Sandy Cape Recreation Park is lapped by the shoreline of the pristine Jurien Bay Marine Park and offers a range of sites suitable for tents, caravans, motor homes, and large rigs.
Access is via Sandy Cape Road (fully sealed 2WD access) off Indian Ocean Drive, 12 km north of Jurien Bay.
Sandy Cape is a ‘nature based’ campground with minimal facilities. No power, drinking water or lighting is available, but personal generators can be used during sociable hours. Eco toilets are located in the main campground and day-use area and two shelters with communal gas BBQ’s are available for day visitors and campers.
Also on offer are more secluded sites that require a high clearance 4x4 to get to (now suitable for SUV's), but you will be rewarded with an isolated campsite with a peaceful outlook surrounded by nature. These additional sites are for fully self-contained campers only.
For fun, try sandboarding the dunes, have a fish, a swim in the sheltered bay or snorkel the reef. Or simply enjoy the opportunity to base yourself in a pristine location and explore the offerings of wildflower season, walk trails, National Parks and the various outdoor activities on offer in the region.
Remember: please respect the natural environment - stick to the tracks, take only photographs, and leave only footprints. Please don’t use the bush or sand dunes as a toilet and take all rubbish away with you. Rubbish disposal and ‘Dump-Ezy’ points are located at the entry to the Recreation Park.
For schools and charitable NFP organisations, please contact the Shire in the first instance to discuss your visit requirements - [email protected]
There is something for everybody at Sandy Cape Recreation Park. We invite you to book and enjoy a stay in this beautiful and unique coastal ‘nature based’ campground.
