MAP: Sandy Cape North South 4x4
SOUTH CAMPING AREA - 4x4 and fully self-contained campers only
The Sandy Cape Recreation Park is the jewel in the crown of the Turquoise Coast for those seeking an eco-friendly camping experience. Access is via Sandy Cape Road (fully sealed 2WD access) off Indian Ocean Drive, 12 km north of Jurien Bay.
Fully self-contained campers with high clearance 4x4 vehicles may wish to venture into the 'South Camping Area' of the Sandy Cape Reserve. This is nature based coastal bush camping - full stop! There are no facilities what-so-ever. Just sand and bush and beach. Bliss!
You will be rewarded with an isolated campsite with a peaceful outlook surrounded by nature. Only fully self-contained campers can stay in this bushland area, so you must have a composting or chemical toilet on board. (Please don’t use the bush or sand dunes as a toilet and take all rubbish away with you. Rubbish disposal and ‘Dump-Ezy’ points are located at the entry to the Recreation Park).
Remember: please respect the natural environment - reduce your tyre pressures, stick to the tracks, take only photographs, and leave only footprints.
For education and recreation charitable NFP organisations, please contact the Shire to discuss your group booking request - [email protected]
