About this space
Due to some of our trees being removed from Hyde Park throughout March 2024 due to an insect infestation called the Polyphagous shot-hole borer we are not taking any new weekday bookings.
Hyde Park is still a public open space and you are welcome to use the park
The Water Playground will be turned on 1st November 2024 and closed on 1st April 2025.
Hyde Park is a well-established park bounded by Vincent, Glendower, Throssell and William Streets. Its lake feature is divided into two basins with islands. Each portion of the lake has an island occupied by breeding birds.
Hyde Park is an ideal location for weddings ceremonies, birthdays, picnics, or BBQ’s. Hyde Park has been divided into 17 zones that may be booked. There is a wedding gazebo (HP1), a gazebo beside the water playground (HP16) and a stage (HP4) available for hire.
No Petting Zoo's or Bouncy Castles permitted inside Hyde Park.
While there are access ramps and concrete paths throughout the park, not all facilities and spaces located within the park are fully accessible. Accessible toilet facilities are located in both the eastern side and western side toilet blocks
Please note that these gazebos no bigger than 3m x 3m are extremely popular and availability is limited especially during summer months.
They are not permitted to be pegged into the grass due to retic pipes
