The Huon Valley Council is the southernmost local government area in Australia. The main townships are Huonville, Franklin, Cygnet, Geeveston and Dover.

About this space

The Huonville Town Hall offers a versatile venue with ample space for various events in the heart of Huonville.

Accommodating a maximum of 250 guests for a stand-up event, or up to 160 seated in theatre style. Hire fee also includes 150 chairs and 9 rectangular folding trestle tables.

The hall has a curtained stage with small anterooms on each side, wooden floors, high ceilings and accessible bathroom facilities.

Perfect for fundraising events, music concerts, and discos, the Huonville Town Hall is also suitable for movie screenings, meetings, and large gatherings. Whether it's an intimate get-together or a grand event, the hall's flexible layout and amenities create a practical and welcoming space for any occasion.

Pricing:

Standard Hourly rate Monday - Thursday: $30

A surcharge of $5 per hour applies for bookings from Friday to Sunday

Day rates will apply for bookings over 5 hours
$150 - Monday to Thursday
$175 - Friday to Saturday

Please be aware when making a booking that you will only have access to the venue within your booked times. Make sure you include time in your booking for setting up, packing up and cleaning up after your event so you can leave the venue when your booking ends.

Additional Charges:

A bond of $250 is required for all bookings. If alcohol is available, the bond increases to $500. The bond is fully refundable within 7 days of the completion of your hire once the post-hire inspection is completed.

Food and Drink:

A kitchenette is available on the first floor of the Town Hall but this is not suitable for preparation of large quantities of food and is only accessed via two flights of stairs or a small internal lift.

You are welcome to serve alcohol at your event, although please note that you will need to pay a $500 bond (see Additional Charges above) and cover for service of alcohol will need to be included in your Public Liability Insurance.

If you plan to sell alcohol at your event, you will also need to apply for a Special Liquor Permit and all people or staff who are selling alcohol will need to hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

Access:

You will be provided with details of electronic access to the venue once your hire is confirmed.

The Town Hall has wheelchair access and there are accessible toilets on the ground floor and at the rear of the building adjacent to the parking area

Cleaning

The venue must be left as you found it. All chairs and tables will need to be folded and stacked as they were found and all areas left clean and tidy.

  • Animals are not permitted on premises – Accredited Guide and Assistance Dogs are accepted.

  • Candles or naked flames are not permitted.

  • Masking tape, blue tac, nails, hooks, staples, gaffer tape or any other fixing device is prohibited on any internal or external walls, doors and floors including the stage.

  • The balcony seating area is not to be accessed during the hire period without prior approval.

  • Theatre lights and sound are owned and maintained by Huon Valley Theatre.

  • If food or drinks are to be sold, the hirer must apply for and obtain a Food Permit from Huon Valley Council prior to the event.

  • If liquor is sold, the hirer must apply for a liquor license from The Department of Treasury & Finance. The hirer must also ensure that all servers have a valid RSA Certificate.

Host's Cancellation Policy
100% refund on cancellations up until 24 hours before your booking. After that, cancel and get a 50% refund.
Parking and Public Transport Information

Onsite parking is available at the rear of the Town Hall.

Tassielink offer a number of bus services a day in and out of Huonville with the main bus stop being located at Skinner Drive, a 1 min walk from the venue.
