About this space
Located on a quiet Thornbury residential street, the quaint house as been utilised as a neighbourhood house since 1985. The building still boasts most of its original features and radiates a homey atmosphere.
~ NOTE: The Back & Middle Rooms can be hired separately during the week & on weekends for meetings, classes, couselling & more. On weekends, the whole building can be hired for children's parties. ~
The Children's Party Package includes hire of the secure childcare yard with sandpit, children's furniture and assorted outdoor toys. With a large amount of covered area in the outdoor space, kids can still enjoy the space if the weather is inclement. Please note that no food of any kind may be taken into the secure outdoor play space.
Hire also includes the Back Room in the house, which overlooks the children's outdoor play space and seats 10-14 people. This opens onto the Middle Room which seats another 8-10 people, as well as the Dining Room with additional seating capacity. The kitchen has all that you need to heat up & serve party food.

Space Dimensions:
Middle Room: 5.1m x 3.9m (19.5 sq m).
Back Room: 6.2m x 3.8m (23.56 sq m).
A mandatory bond is taken for all bookings, refundable upon return of any issues keys & venue as per Bridge Darebin's Terms & Conditions.
Public Liability Insurance is compulsory for all hirers - if you do not already hold your own, one-off insurance can be purchased through Darebin Council. Proof of insurance must be provided prior to venue hire.
If using your own business insurance, a Certificate of Currency is to be provided.
Alcohol is NOT permitted in any Bridge Darebin venue.
All rooms are to be left as they are found. You are welcome to arrange the space as you wish, however you cannot use pins (except in the pinboards) or tape on the walls. Any Blu-Tack used must be removed at the end of your hire. Furniture is to be returned to it's original location.
Your booking should include enough time to setup and pack down.
Not-for-profit rates available - continue with booking to receive rates.
$5 admin fee applicable on all one-off bookings (applied at checkout).

Rules
CLEANING AND RUBBISH REMOVAL:
The Facilities must be thoroughly cleaned and cleared of all decorations, signs and rubbish.
Floors must be swept with the broom provided. Penalty: $35.
Spills must be mopped from floors with the mop provided. Penalty: $35.
Tables and benches must be wiped down. Penalty: $20.
The Kitchen must be left with all benches wiped, floors cleaned, ovens cleaned, and all dishes put away. Penalty: $35.
Rubbish, including balloons, must be removed from the premises. Rubbish (bagged or otherwise) must not be left anywhere on the premises, including in the on-site “wheelie bins”. Penalty: $35.
No sticky tape, hooks or nails can be used on any walls, doors or door frames. Minimum penalty: $100
DAMAGE:
The floors, walls, curtains or any part of Bridge Darebin premises including furniture and fittings must not be broken, pierced by screws or nails, scratched or in any other way damaged (including the use of adhesive tape).
The Hirer accepts responsibility for damage to Bridge Darebin, or to private property, and agrees to meet the full cost of cleaning or repairing or replacing any of these should any damage occur as a result of the hire.
The Venue Hire Manager’s assessment of the damage shall be taken as final. The amount assessed will be deducted from any bond held or paid immediately an account is rendered.
SMOKING:
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere on site, including in any of the buildings, in the gardens, playgrounds or yards.
ALCOHOL:
- Alcohol is not permitted at any Bridge Darebin site.

All-day free on-street parking available on Shaftesbury Parade, and around the corner in Leinster Grove.
Croxton on the Mernda line is the closest railway station, 16-20 minutes' walk from the venue.
The 510 bus route is about six minutes' walk (Mayer Park/Leinster Grove stop).
The number 11 tram route runs along St Georges Road (Normanby Avenue stop); and the route 86 tram on High Street is also an option (Woolton Avenue or Normanby Avenue/Clarendon Street stops. Normanby Avenue offers a traffic light-controlled pedestrian crossing at St Georges Road; both Normanby Ave and Woolton St are crossing points on the railway line).
