We are a Neighbourhood House nestled in beautiful and leafy Northcote, run by a small team of dedicated staff and supported by the wonderful people of the community. Jika is a space for local residents like you: to empower you in what you’re trying to achieve, to learn something new and fun, and to help you access whatever community support is useful to you.

About this space

This light airy hall has capacity for up to 40 people.

It has a couch, toys for children, a children's toilet, yoga mats, blankets and cushions.

There are 2 trestle tables and 20 chairs available.

Excellent cross ventilation with a door on the northern side of the hall as well as the main doorway.

Hall users have non-exclusive access to a beautiful courtyard including chairs, tables, playground and BBQ.

Tea and coffee available for a small charge. $5 per booking.

This fee will be applied to hall hirers who leave the heating or aircon on overnight. Pleae keep our electricty cotst down and help the environment by always turning it off.

Rules

Guests must take rubbish home. Guests must wash, dry and put away any dishes used.

Glitter, balloons and single-use plastic are not to be used at the Centre.

There is an additional $250 fully refundable bond, referred to as "Space Protect". The facility must be left in original condition. Otherwise a cleaning fee may be removed from the bond.

A $20 levy or "fine" will be applied to any group that leaves the heating / cooling on overnight. Please do not leave it on for the next group and double check it is off before leaving. Thanks.

Host's Cancellation Policy
100% refund on cancellations up until 14 days before your booking. After that, there are no refunds on cancellation.
