Welcome to the 1st Woodend Scout Hall, nestled in the tranquil and picturesque town of Woodend. Located within the Macedon Ranges in Victoria, Australia, our Scout Hall is a rustic haven that embodies the spirit of adventure, camaraderie, and outdoor exploration.
The Hall is designed to accommodate scout groups of various sizes (up to 80 maximum), making it perfect for weekend getaways, camping trips and outdoor adventures. It offers cozy sleeping spaces, communal areas and essential amenities for a comfortable stay. The fully equipped kitchen contains ovens, microwave, fridge/freezer and urn, as well as cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and equipment. The hall boasts an open fire, wood heater and gas heating.
Our Scout Hall is perfect for a range of events and activities including children’s birthday parties, community meetings, indoor sporting activities and classes.
The Hall has disabled access, drop down projector screen, a stage and shower facilities.
Conveniently there are four small rooms off the main hall which can be used for sleeping, meetings and activities.
For large and small meetings, tables (12) and chairs (60) are available. Outside the Hall there is a large open grassed (unfenced) area, which backs onto the picturesque Five Mile Creek. Additionally, there is an outdoor fire pit.
The Hall's location offers access to a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, campfires, and wildlife observation. The Hall is a 1-minute walk from the High Street, offering visitors an ideal starting point for exploring the natural wonders of the Woodend area.

Rules
Smoking is not permitted within any Facility, on any verandahs or within 10m from any door or window.
Hirers are to clearly state the nature and type of activity that is to take place on their booking.
The Facility is not to be booked for 18 or 21st birthday parties.
Animals or pets are not permitted in or on premises.
The Facility is located in a residential area. Therefore, it is expected that the surrounding residents be respected. Noise associated with your function is to be kept to a minimum and must comply with legal counsel requirements, to avoid disturbing surrounding neighbours.
Music is to cease playing at 10:00pm.
The Facility and car park must be clear by 12:00 midnight and noise kept to a minimum whilst packing up.
Alcohol must only be consumed within the Facility. Alcohol is not permitted to be consumed outside the building (e.g. in carparks, doorways or walkways).
Venue capacity is to be strictly adhered to and is not to be exceeded under any circumstances.
Nails, screws, tacks or any other fastenings are not to be driven in or attached in any way to the walls, floors, timber work, ceilings, furniture or fittings. Blu Tac may be used with extreme care, providing it is completely removed at the end of the function and does not damage the Facility.
Decorations are welcome at the Facility. However, they must be removed at the conclusion of the hire/function, and must not damage the Facility. Streamers and balloons must not be hung from the fans.
Throwing of confetti, glitters, sprays, poppers, or rice is not permitted. A minimum of $50 charge will be deducted from the Hirer’s bond if such materials are left in the Facility.
Jumping castles are not permitted inside the Facility, however they may be used in the outdoor grassed areas adjacent to the Hall.
If using the outside firepit area, please ensure you extinguish it fully prior to leaving the Facility.
Any additional costs will be deducted from the bond. Any costs incurred in excess of the bond will be the responsibility of the Hirer. These include, but are not limited to, damage to or destruction of the Facility and damage to surrounding areas including residences.
a. Balloons and decorations: minimum $50 removal fee, more if balloons are difficult to remove, are tangled in fans, or are numerous.
b. Cleaning/rubbish removal fee – minimum $50.
