About this space
The City of Melville's Renault Auto People Mover 11 seater bus is available for hire by for not for profit community groups and associations who provide services to City of Melville residents.
Hirers can provide their own driver, however, a C Class licence is required. We encourage you to provide your own driver, however, you can request a Melville Cares volunteer to drive the bus (subject to availability).
The Renault People Mover can carry the driver and 10 passengers with up to one person in a wheelchair. Eight seats are located in the rear of the vehicle and there are two seats next to the driver that would not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.
Buses can be hired on a five hour (half day) or ten hour (full day) booking timeslot.

Rules
Hirer acknowledges having read the Conditions of Hire and Fee Schedule and agree to comply with the fees and conditions herein.
The hirer is responsible for the behaviour of all persons travelling on the bus.
The hirer is responsible for ensuring that the bus is left in a clean and tidy condition. Charges may be applied for extra cleaning.
Hirer understands that noncompliance of the conditions may result in future bookings being denied.
Hirer confirms that the activities being undertaken are covered by the Hirer’s Public Liability Insurance. A copy of the current public liability insurance to be uploaded to SpacetoCo account.
Hirer to upload a copy of the front and back of the nominated Driver’s current licence. Only the nominated driver is permitted to drive the vehicle. Nominated driver must not have been convicted of any drink driving, dangerous or careless driving related offences during the last 10 years.
Vehicles will be provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank of fuel (noncompliance may result in extra charges).
Any Drivers that are being paid by the Hirer must check the Department of Transport website and if deemed necessary apply for a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation.
If your driver requires a PTD it must be uploaded to SpacetoCo account.
Vehicles can only be driven within a 100km radius of the bus garage (corner Archibald and North Lake Road Willagee).
An extra $1.05 per kilometre charge will be incurred for every kilometre that is over 100km.

Children under the age of 7 who require a safety harness or restraint are not to be transported on the buses.
It is the Hirers responsibility to contact Melville Cares via SpacetoCo message or telephone number at least 7 business days prior to your booking to arrange for vehicle induction and collection of the keys. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
No food, drinks [water acceptable] or alcohol to be consumed in vehicle.

The vehicles are located in a garage (entry from Butler Street) at the rear of the Southern Districts Seniors Citizen Centre, cnr Archibald and North Lake Road. There is secure parking for your vehicle in the bus compound area.
