Our community centre is located on the corner of Clifford and Alcorn Street in Suffolk Park, 10minutes drive from the heart of Byron Bay. Discover our charming and airy space that offers everything you need for your event. A short walk to the beach, boasting polished timber floors, an open layout and covered decks as an extension to the entertaining areas, this venue is a great location for any occasion- from informal gatherings and birthday parties to seminars, workshops, classes, and professional meetings.

  2. Fully-Equipped Kitchen: Our well-equipped kitchen allows for convenient catering and basic food preparation. Whether you're hosting a banquet or a casual gathering, this feature ensures that your culinary needs are well taken care of. Please note this is not a licenced commercial kitchen. Therefore, all food and beverages must first be prepared or catered for offsite.

  3. Expansive Covered Decks: Take advantage of the covered deck, which extends the entertaining area and creates a wonderfully balanced space for your specific needs. Enjoy the sound of the ocean and its fresh air.

  4. Capacity:

    • Seated: Accommodates up to 100 guests comfortably, with ample space for a sit-down meals or organised events.

Rules

Rules

  • For casual and regular non-function bookings, 15 minutes is allocated for bump in/bump out. If you require additional time, please include it in your booking request.

  • For function bookings such as weddings, please ensure you include additional set-up and pack-up times in your booking request.

  • On leaving the hall, all windows and all doors must be locked, ceiling and wall fans and lights turned off. All hired spaces should be returned to original state and layout. Taking a photo of the space on arrival may be useful.

  • At the end of your hire, floors must be swept, or dry mopped with disinfectant spray, tables to be wiped clean, the dishwasher unpacked, and all cutlery and crockery returned to their rightful place. You will find cloths, mops, brushes and sprays in the Kitchen.

  • All rubbish and excess rubbish is to be removed from the hall and taken with you off the premises. Failure to do so attracts a deduction from the bond.

  • If your hired space is left in an unacceptable condition requiring a cleaner to attend, a fee of $50 per hour will be deducted from the bond.

  • The Hirer must ensure that the floors, walls, ceilings or other parts of the Hall are not cut, marked, scratched, defaced, drilled or damaged before leaving the hall.

  • The Hirer must notify the Booking Officer of any damage caused while occupying the Hall and make good. Any damage will be deducted from the bond.

  • The Hirer must not allow the Hall to be occupied by more than the maximum number of people allowed in the Hall.

  • The Hirer must use the Hall only for the Permitted Use in their booking application.

  • The Hirer is responsible for complying with any law regarding the Permitted Use being carried out in the Hall.

  • Please be mindful there is a charge for lost keys- $50 will be deducted from the bond.

General Rules

  • Children must be supervised at all times.

  • No smoking rule applies throughout the building and decks.

  • Only Assistance/guide dogs on leads are allowed on the premises.

  • Candles, incense and bare flames are not permitted in or outside of the hall.

  • Hirers must be prepared to vacate the hall when it is used for election purposes, and/or if there is a need for emergency repairs. Due notice will be given in relation to this as far as is reasonably possible.

Amplified Sound

  • All sound amplification equipment must be kept to the absolute minimum. Electrically amplified music or public address systems are not permitted to emit ‘offensive noise’, as defined under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 at any time, and should not exceed background noise by 5dB(A). Amplified sound will not be played after 10.00pm Sunday to Thursday, or after 11.00pm Friday and Saturday nights. Please respect the Hall’s neighbours and close windows and doors for loud activities such as drumming, shouting, singing, etc.

    Cancellation Policy

  • If the Hirer cancels with more than 14 days’ notice, there is no cancellation fee.

  • If the Hirer cancels with less than 14 days’ notice, the termination fee is 50% of the Hire Fee

Host's Cancellation Policy
100% refund on cancellations up until 14 days before your booking. After that, there are no refunds on cancellation.

  • Off-Street Parking

  • For large events, please be aware that off-street parking is limited in a residential area. It may be wise to arrange private bus drop offs for larger groups.
