Earthwise community provides an open and interactive space that is safe and encouraging. We offer a connecting point for people who may be short of confidence or short of cash. Earthwise promotes sustainable living practices through the principals of reducing consumption, re-using and recycling.
About this space
The Outback room is at the rear of the pink church behind the Op Shop surrounded by gardens that provide a quiet and peaceful area suitable for a range of activities. The room adjoins shared toilets (including disabled), a commercial-grade kitchen and an open courtyard. Kitchen facilities are shared with other users. Shared use is part of general room hire, as is access to the courtyard (which is a public area during weekdays and Saturday mornings). The carpeted room is fitted with ceiling fans and gas heater, 40 stackable plastic chairs, a number of folding trestle tables, piano and whiteboard (advisable to bring your own white-board markers). We have a 75 inch TV to be used as a monitor (advisable to bring your HDMI cable). There is no WiFi access.
Room size is 9x6m (operationally 8x5m) and has a capacity of 20-25 seated at tables, 30-40 for seated presentations and 50-60 for informal “stand and mingle” events.
The room and oneof the 3 toilets are fully wheelchair accessible.
As this is a community space there is activity in the community space with a shared kitchen during the weekdays.

This is a pet friendly space, however animals must be kept under control by the owners and all mess to be cleaned up and disposed of in the "Dog Poo" compost bin. If requested you may need to harness your dog.
Earthwise is a not-for-profit association and we aim to keep hire costs down. To this end we expect hirers to leave the facility as they found it, including putting away tables and chairs. Please ensure that crockery, cutlery, glasses etc are all washed, dried and returned to their places (you will find clean tea-towels in the drawers next to the fridge).
Please make sure that the room and the kitchen are clean and tidy before you leave. There is a vacuum cleaner under the stairs and brooms etc in the kitchen, a mop bucket in the middle toilet and mops on the fence along the edge of the pergola.. A cleaning bond is part of hire conditions in the event that the room is not adequately cleaned (see SpacetoCo conditions for bond management). In respect of possible bond claims, please advise (with photo if applicable) if the room or kitchen is not clean and tidy when you arrive. There may not be Earthwise staff in attendance and this will help to identify guilty parties. We strongly suggest that hirers photograph the room and kitchen when they leave as protection from a possible claim.
Chairs and tables. Please be aware that tables and chairs from the room are not to be taken outside. Tables are marked as to usage, and the newer double fold trestle tables are not to be used for any type of arts and crafts. Tables in the courtyard should be adequately protected if used for arts and crafts or other potentially damaging activity. Protective coverings are not supplied by Earthwise. Repairs and replacement will be charged aginst the bond.

Additional details
There are 5 bays available on site, but these may not be available during the week and on Saturday morning. Parking is available at the Subiaco Theatre parking area or in Bagot Rd – both are paid options during the week between 8-6pm but are free at other times.
Earthwise can be accessed via Transperth bus services 27 and 28, and is a 15min walk from Subiaco train station and 10 min from Daglish station.
