About this space
1st Heatherdale Scout Group (part of Scouts Australia) is a thriving local community group focussed on supporting our children to develop into self-reliant and responsible members of the community. Scouting emphasises nature, outdoor adventure, citizenship, leadership, teamwork and, of course, having fun! We have a fabulous, large hall that we are proud to hire out. It is a way for us to raise funds for the benefit of our young people.
1st Heatherdale Scout Group acknowledges the Wurundjeri people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we base our Scouting, and pays respect to the Elders both past and present of the Kulin Nation.
The hall
Nestled in a bushland setting, our hall boasts an open fire place, ducted heating plus kitchen and toilet facilities. Originally a church hall, our building was moved to its present position beside Somers Trail parklands through the dedicated efforts of the local community. This is a simple and inviting space - your classic Scout Hall! It is full of Scouting memorabilia and this may restrict our ability to hire out the hall for some activities. Our hall is suitable for events with up to approximately 120 people - we welcome family celebrations, sporting club events, special interest groups, small business functions, school events and charity fund-raising events.
