About this space
St Heliers Centre was founded on the principle of caring for our local community, so we're happy to share our excellent facilities with groups, individuals and families who are looking for a safe and welcoming space.
This space is our peaceful courtyard with a deck, wooden table and BBQ. It's perfect for breakout sessions or extra space for functions if booked alongside our other spaces, especially the Community Lounge which it is attached to.

All hirers and their guests are welcome to gather in the our community lounge before their event. This has comfy casual seating, and is right next to the courtyard
Regular hirers
We welcome regular hirers who want to use this space. We have a lower regular hire rate. Please message us for options.
Eating & Drinking
You are able to book the kitchen as an add-on, either with lite use (tea/coffee and finger food etc.) or full use (cooking meals etc.) You can add either of these options at checkout or view the full details of the kitchen space here: https://www.spacetoco.com/space/saint-heliers-auckland-st-heliers-community-centre-kitchen
Please take your rubbish home when you leave. If you cannot commit to doing this, then please add the rubbish removal fee at checkout.
No alcohol can be consumed or sold at the facility under the terms of our licence.
Noise and Music
The centre is located in a residential area and due care and respect must be shown to neighbouring properties with regard to noise both during and after the event. Hirers are responsible for managing noise during the event. Noise from amplifiers and loudspeakers (especially from live bands) must be kept to a moderate level at all times.
Accessibility
The Centre is fully wheelchair accessible. There is an accessible toilet. The centre has 1 disabled parking slot.
Location
St Heliers Centre is a 5 minute walk into the lovely St Heliers village and beach. It has plenty of cafes, shops, bars and restaurants. The Tamaki Link bus connects the village to the city every 15 minutes.

Rules
Hours of Activity
Hirers must vacate the premises no later than 9.45pm including clean up. Hirers may not enter any facility until the time booked and all functions must finish at the completion of the booked period. The booking period must include setting up, dismantling, and cleaning of the venue.
Cleaning
It is the responsibility of each hirer to clean and vacuum any area that they have used and remove all rubbish from the venue chairs and tables need to be stored as they were found or as agreed, after use.
No gathering outside the front of the Centre after 9.45pm.
Please note that there is a $250 SpaceProtect/Bond fee. This will be fully refunded to you if the space is left in a satisfactory condition.
ALWAYS leave the front of the building clear for emergency vehicles and for vehicles dropping off disabled people.

This is an alcohol and smoke free facility
CCTV
We have cameras throughout the St Heliers Centre recording activity. Footage is regularly monitored to ensure the smooth running of the centre. If we suspect our regulations/rules relating to the use of our premises is being violated we may access this as evidence.

Additional details
There is plenty of free residential parking on the street. DO NOT park on the grass or yellow marked parking areas. Vehicles must not be left unattended in the designated drop off areas.
