Mana Moana Lounge – Terms and Conditions of Hire

Our Function Lounge is available for hire as a self-service venue.

Hirers are fully responsible for organising the setup of the space to suit their needs, managing the packdown of any equipment or decorations used, and ensuring the venue is cleaned and returned to its original condition at the conclusion of their event. Furniture is provided and located in a storage room adjacent to the lounge, and it is the hirer’s responsibility to move it as needed and return it afterward.

To ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all our guests, please review the following guidelines for the use of the Mana Moana Lounge at the Midway Surf Rescue Community Hub:

- Setup and Packdown: The hirer is responsible for all setup and packdown activities. While tables and chairs are provided as part of the hire, this is stored away for easy access adjacent to the lounge.

- Rubbish and Recycling: All rubbish and recycling must be removed from the premises at the end of the hire period. Bins are provided for use.

- Cleaning: We ask that you leave the spaces as you found them.

- Caterers: If you are working with a caterer, please have them contact us before your event to confirm that the kitchen space meets their requirements. Note that the kitchen does not include cooking utensils, pots, or other cookware, so they will need to bring their own equipment. There are two ovens with gas hobs and 1 refrigerator. There is currently not an onsite freezer.

- No Smoking or Vaping: Smoking and vaping are prohibited on site.

- No Open Flames: For safety reasons, no naked flames, BBQs, or spit roasters are permitted on the balcony or in the lounge.

- Fire Alarms: Any fire alarm activation deemed to have been caused from a hire space will incur a callout fee of $250.

- Decorations: Decorations must not be affixed to walls. If you need to display decorations or promotional materials, please discuss options with us in advance.

- Alcohol at Events:

- No underage drinking is permitted.

- A responsible, sober adult must be present on site throughout the event if alcohol is being consumed.

- Alcohol may only be brought on-site as part of the event’s official delivery; outside alcohol is not allowed.

- Pets: Only service dogs are permitted on the premises.

- Standard of Behavior: As this is a shared facility, we kindly ask all guests to maintain a reasonable standard of behavior, respecting both the space and other users of the Hub.

- Respect for Shared Spaces: Keep hallways and common areas clear to ensure easy access for all Hub guests.

- Security: To maintain a safe environment, security cameras operate within common shared spaces and around the exterior of the facility. No cameras are installed in any hired rooms.

- Access and Security Footage: Access to security footage is securely managed by the Hub Manager and Tahu Management and will not be made public. Footage will be provided to the police if required.
