About this space
Taparoto is the Community Room located in the heart of Puriri Park Road. The room's purpose is to facilitate events for the residents and surrounding community. This is a great multi functional space suitable for regular groups or one off events.
This space is ideal for: Community gatherings and groups, dance classes, film screenings, huis, celebrations like birthday parties, training, cooking classes, youth groups, play groups, and so much more.
The space benefits from all day sunshine and a full kitchen. It has vinyl flooring - great for easy clean up. It is a new building, completed in 2023, and is warm and dry. There is a partially enclosed patio area that leads out to a lawn area, which then leads out to Puriri Park. The room has plenty of natural light, however there is also lighting available inside and on the patio area. The space has a heat pump that can also blow cold air in summer, also most people just have the sliding door open.

1x 4 person round table
9x stackable plastic chairs
10x stackable heavy duty chairs

Access to the patio and lawn area
This community room is free to hire. The room has slots available for regular hire.
Suitable for:
20 seated at tables, or
50 standing in both the indoor and patio space.
Room dimensions are: 8m x 6m.
There are approximately 6 power points. Bring your own extension leads.
The room contains a kitchen. You're welcome to use the kitchen for self catering your event. Included in the kitchen there is a sink, water boiler, fridge, oven and stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Some cutlery, glassware, crockery and cooking and serving equipment is provided.
The Community Room is an alcohol free space - please do not bring any alcohol onto the premises.
There is no television or projector provided with the room.
You are welcome to decorate the space for your event. However, you cannot use pins or tape or anything that would damage the walls. Blu tac is OK.
Cleaning equipment is provided. You are expected to leave the room as you find it and book enough time to clean it after you event. All rubbish must be removed from the facility. Please no confetti, rice or party poppers in the outside area. It's fine to use an external event hire company if you want to bring your own furniture, table cloths, drapes etc. All decorations and anything you have brought in for your event must be removed by the end of your booking, we can't accommodate storage or set up/pack down before or after your booking time has ended. Please book the time you need in the space to set up, pack down and clean as the room may be used directly before or after you.
The room has wheelchair access and there is an accessible toilet. There are 4 car parking spaces. There is also a baby changing area in the accessible toilet.
Booking instructions:
Once your booking request has been submitted, a member of our team will review your request. You will receive a notification when the booking has been accepted.
Upon acceptance of your booking, a member of our team will contact you to arrange an induction of the room at a date and time prior to your event booking.
We will discuss key handover and return during your induction.
Please note that any messages from our team will come via the SpaceToCo messaging service. Please ensure to check for a response regularly, or alternatively please provide us with your contact number and/or email address if you prefer us to contact you directly.

Rules
Leave the premises how you find it
No alcohol or drugs are to be brought onto the premises or consumed on the premises
Please be considerate and respect the surrounding neighbours. This includes keeping music to a reasonable volume.
This is a no shouting or hitting environment. This includes no verbal abuse (especially of children).
No smoking or vaping.
No naked flames.
If you set off the fire alarm, there may be a fine if the fire service are called.
No gang insignia
No Sellotape, push-pins, tacks or nails to be used on the walls. You can use Blutack on the walls.
Please remove any strings or Blutack used to fix the decorations before the end of your event.
If any damages have been caused please notify the Housing Support Manager as soon as possible
Please take all rubbish with you when you leave.
No digging or damaging the grounds

Do not park in the complex if the community room car parks are full

The room has 4 free private car parking spaces, that are first come first serve to users of the room. If these car parks are full, please park on the road and do not park within the Puriri Park Road development as these parks are required for residents. There is lots of free on street parking on Puriri Park road, and you can walk through Puriri Park to the community room.
