Stirk Park in Kalamunda is now home to a brand-new playground and skate park.
The park features a half-sized basketball court, exercise and play equipment, a flying fox, picnic facilities including BBQs, bench seating, and shade shelters, as well as a new toilet block. Visitors can also enjoy a viewing platform and a restored historic bridge.
A dedicated junior play area includes a water fountain, sand play zones, a timber arbour meeting place, a boardwalk, rope walk, shop front, zig-zag climber, and interactive animal and human tracks that share a Dreamtime Story.
The skate park is a key attraction, offering Junior and Intermediate ‘Street Plaza’ areas along with a Flow Bowl skate zone, designed with input from local youth. Other playground highlights include a zig-zag boardwalk, triple swing, thread chimes, talking tube, community pathway, an all-abilities double flying fox, and a possum hangout.
Stirk Park’s new facilities provide an exciting and inclusive space for all ages to enjoy.
