Rules for use of Floreat Beach Wheelchair

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Please do not try to use the beach wheelchair on your own. The Hirer must have two (2) support persons on the day to operate the Sandcruiser Beach Wheelchair.

2. If the person using the chair has severe balance or sitting problems or is prone to pressure sores, back pain or other similar conditions, please consult your Doctor before use.

3. Please wear a life jacket while using the chair.

4. The beach wheelchair is available to the public free of charge.

5. The beach wheelchair is available to hire during beach patrolled hours from November to March between 9 AM - 3 PM.

6. The maximum safe weight load is 120kg.

7. Please do not leave the chair unattended, especially near water or sloping ground.

1. The chair is designed to be used at the water's edge and is stable with water levels around the centre of the rear wheels (about 24cm or 10 inches).

2. The wheelchair is suitable for use on sand and soft soil. To prevent damage please avoid use on paved footpaths and other hard surfaces.

3. The chair is not designed to move up and down stairs while loaded.

4. Please follow the directions of the Floreat Surf Life Saving Club Manager if they are in attendance.

5. Please contact the Floreat Surf Life Saving Club Manager if you encounter any damages or mechanical problems on 9385 9370.

How to hire:

1. Complete the booking application online

2. Approval will be granted instantly

3. Check your email for confirmation

4. Organise at least two carers to assist

5. Head to Floreat Beach - Floreat Surf Lifesaving Club

6. Have fun at the beach!

• Use of the beach wheelchair in accordance with the Conditions of Use and Safety Procedures provided.

• Use of the beach wheelchair is at your own risk and Floreat Surf Life Saving Club and its directors and agents cannot be held liable for any incident which occurs while it is in the charge of a third party.

• The Floreat Surf Life Saving Club and associated parties accept no liability for any damage to the beach wheelchair, or to any injury, incurred directly or indirectly to any person while the wheelchair is in your custody.

• Indemnify Floreat Surf Life Saving Club and its agents against any negligent acts, errors or omissions made by the Hirer.
