About this space
Welcome to the recently refurbished Eliza Hall. Built in 1896, the Eliza Hall is set up as a live music venue with bar facilities and stage while also being a great open space for dance, yoga, meetings and social gatherings. The space has a capacity of 120 . Eliza Hall is located within Payinthi, City of Prospect's stunning new Civic Centre at 128 Prospect Road, 5 minutes drive from Adelaide city centre. It has new air conditioning and heating. There is direct access to the vibrant Prospect Road.
It is one of the largest hire venues in our community and has the benefit of being within a brand new state-of-the-art facility, with excellent amenities and a modern renovation in 2019. Complete with bar, sound and lighting system and disability access, it is an ideal venue for a range of community activities. There is also a small kitchenette available for shared use.
Your booking will give you access to:
a microphone (corded) and 2 speakers to amplify music
a portable data projector and screen
8 6ft trestle tables
120 chairs
15 small cafe tables
7 tall bar tables with 28 bar stools
Please note that you will need to bring in your own linen, crockery and cutlery for your events.
For performers and events: While we don't offer traditional green room spaces, we do have rooms that can be utilised for storage, preparation and as change rooms. Please let us know when booking if you need these and we can discuss the best option for your particular event or function. The lights and speakers on stage are run through a sound desk and will require a council approved sound tech to operate.
Taking care of our environment: Please be aware of South Australia's ban on single-use plastic with drinking straws, stirrers and cutlery. Council has also adopted a 100% compostable (not biodegradable) approach to all crockery/cutlery and drinkware used in all our halls and parks along with a no balloon policy in our efforts to reduce landfill.

Rules
We have a range of community groups, businesses and individuals that use our spaces, and do so in different ways. So to ensure our venues and hire spaces are welcoming, tidy and well cared for, we do have some basic rules to help us all. Additionally we have detailed Terms & Conditions (link below) and these apply to all bookings. Please ensure you take time to read our rules and likewise understand the 'nitty gritty' of our Terms & Conditions.
Here are some house keeping rules to cover the basics :
Wipe tables down so they are clean for the next user and put chairs back on trolleys. These items then need to be stored in the furniture store room
Ensure you sweep before you depart unless you have paid for cleaning
Leave the space clean and tidy, with rubbish in the four bin system provided
Report any issues to us at any time during your hire
Remember our spaces are shared, so we require everyone to look after the areas, and leave them suitable for the next hirer
All of our spaces are non-smoking which includes vaping.
For larger events and functions, a cleaning fee and bond may be applied. This will be confirmed with you prior to booking finalisation by our Community Spaces and Gallery Officer.

Eliza Hall is located on the ground floor of the Payinthi building.
Parking is available at the rear of Payinthi and along side streets nearby, with disabled parking in the rear parking area (between Olive Street and Vine Street). Please note that timed parking restrictions may apply to some of the sides streets nearby.
Adelaide Metro is Adelaide's public transport provider, and the G10 bus gets you down Prospect Road. Payinthi sits between bus stops 11 and 12 on Prospect Road, and full timetable information is available on Adelaide Metro's website www.adelaidemetro.com.au
