4th Brunswick Scout Hall
Hosted by 4th Brunswick Scout Group
SpacetoCo Host since October 2023
About this space
The Scout Hall in Jacobs Reserve, Brunswick West provides a great venue for children’s parties (unfortunately we don’t hire the hall for 13 - 21st birthdays) and other events that respect the amenity of the neighbourhood. The Scout Hall is often booked for several months in advance, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
The main hall (approximately 8.0m x 13.5m) has a cushioned sports floor with basketball hoops, a small climbing wall and acoustic ceiling panels.
The kitchen/dining area (approximately 5.8m x 10.5m) has reverse cycle heating and cooling (press white button under fuse box for 3 hours use) and opens to an undercover outdoor paved area at the rear which is adjacent to a large grassed area. The front of the hall opens onto Jacobs Reserve and playground.
The hall and kitchen/dining area have wheelchair access and there is an accessible toilet and shower.
Suitable for 72 seated at tables or 100 standing.
Included in the hire are three folding plastic tables (1800 x 700mm) and 50 chairs.
Kitchen has refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, electric hotplate, double oven, microwave, kettle, urn and hot water. There is a limited supply of glassware, cutlery, crockery, cooking and serving gear.
There is a wall-mounted TV with DVD player and VGA/HDMI connectors for computer.
You are welcome to serve alcohol but you need to obtain any permits (including liquor permits) necessary for the proposed use of the venue.
Cleaning equipment is provided. You are expected to leave everything as you found it and book enough time to clean it after your event. All rubbish must be removed and not placed in the neighbour's bins (we don't want to annoy the neighbours).
You are welcome to decorate the hall for your event. However, you cannot use pins or tape or anything that would damage the walls. Blu tac is OK. Please note the hall must be left as you found it, so all decorations must be removed. Please no confetti, rice or party poppers in the outside area. The hall space is large enough for a bouncy castle.
See Moreland Council events (www.merri-bek.vic.gov.au/exploring-merri-bek/events/planning-an-event/) for permit requirements and fees for having marquees, “amusement rides or animal farms” outside the hall.
Get in touch for reduced rates for regular hire. The hall is used during the school term on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings by Scouts, Venturer Scouts, Girl Guides, Joeys and Cubs. It is also used on Friday and Saturday mornings by the Moreland Toy Library and on Mondays by Moreland Vision Impaired Table Tennis.

We have 5 bicycle hoops outside for secure bicycle parking.
Jolley St is blocked in the middle in front of the Scout Hall, so Jacobs Reserve and the playground are accessible without having to cross a road. There are parking restrictions on the south end of Jolley St so it is preferable to enter from the north (Appleby Cres).
