Activity Room

The activity room is an ideal setting for classes, workshops or meetings. Some of its uses have included dance practice, theatre workshops, choir, AGM, board games. It has a view to the edible garden and access to kitchenette. Folding tables and chairs can be set up in a variety of ways to accommodate visitors. Split system heating / cooling available. Louvre windows for fresh air. Blank walls for projections.

Hire Rates:
Private/Commercial: $50 p/h
Community/Not-for-Profit: $25 p/h (Community rate is applied using a discount code provided to those booking on behalf of a community or not-for-profit group when they select a community booking option).

Please note: Bookings provide 15 mins load in and 15 mins load out either side of your booking. If you require additional set up or pack down time, please allow for this in your booking times.

Louis Joel Gallery is part of the Louis Joel Arts & Community Centre, located on the site of the old Altona Hospital. Louis Joel Arts & Community currently provides venue hire for a range of diverse activities that includes art classes for children and adults. Organisations who hire venue space include Hobsons Bay Arts Society, the CWA, U3A, Dramawerkz, and NDIS program providers amongst others as well as private and business functions.

Venue hire is available for meetings, small parties, cultural events, special occasions, launches and classes. The venue has a whiteboard, audio visual equipment, audio equipment, seating for 50 people and 14 trestle style tables. A kitchen to support light catering including tea/coffee making facilities is also available. The centre has a monitored security alarm and is air conditioned.
