About this space
Te Puna Hall is a brand new hall, events, and meeting space built-in 2020. It is a fantastic venue to hold your event, celebration or performance and it's great for social, corporate, and community users. The hall is just 10 mins drive from the heart of Tauranga, 1.5 hrs from Hamilton, or 2.5 hours from Auckland -so it's great for weddings, conferences and away days. Book this space to hire the whole venue or check out the other bookable spaces that can be booked.
The hall space is bright and open from large windows and overhead lighting. It has sprung wooden floors - great for dance practice or rehearsals. The hall stage has heavy curtains, a generous backstage area and toilet, separate access to backstage, and a large black backing to the stage. The hall has a small supper-room, access to a deck and grassed area, and a small kitchenette. The facilities are modern and brand new with everything accessible for wheelchair users, including a lift for the stage.
When making your booking, please include your set-up and pack-up time .
Meeting Room:
The meeting room is large enough for 20 people. It features 2 large beautiful wooden tables made from the wood from the original hall. It has natural light and access to the kitchenette.

Hall hirers will be charged a $500 bond taken 4 days before your event and returned 4 days after. Please see details on our bond system 'SpaceProtect' below for T&Cs.

You are welcome to self-cater or use external caterers for your event. They can use all the kit in both kitchens. The kitchens are dry hire, so you will need to bring all cooking and serving equipment e.g. knives, pans, crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
You must leave the kitchen as you found it.
You must remove your rubbish.
You need to bring all your consumables e.g. tea & coffee.
Alcohol
You can serve alcohol and BYO, however, you will need a licence to sell alcohol.
Presenting
The hall has a lighting bar. The main lighting is overhead fluorescent lights. There is no inbuilt sound system or speakers, but you are welcome to bring your own. There is 3 phase power.
The space is great for bands and DJs but they need to bring their own amps, speakers mics, etc. There is roller door access to load and unload to the stage area.
There is no projector or screen, but BYO works well if you have a free-standing screen.
Decoration and Parties
You are welcome to decorate the hall space for your event. However, you cannot use pins or tape, or anything that would damage the hall walls. Blu tac is OK. For Indian weddings, you can have a controlled flame for your ceremony. Please note the hall must be left as you found it, so all decorations - including ties must be removed. Please no confetti, rice, or party poppers in the outside area. The hall internal or external space is large enough for a bouncy castle. It's fine to use an external event hire company if you want to bring your own furniture, table cloths, drapes, etc. All decorations and anything you have brought in for your event must be removed by the end of your booking. Please book the time you need in the hall space to set up, pack down, and clean as the hall may be used directly before or after you.
Location
The hall is in the centre of Te Puna village. Nearby is Nourish Cafe, Te Puna Deli, and the White House Restaurant. We're just 10 mins drive into Tauranga and 30 mins from Papamoa beach. We are 18 mins drive from Tauranga Airport.
Access
The whole venue is wheelchair accessible, including disabled toilets and lift access to the stage. Our team will communicate how you get access to the hall. The hall also has 63 dedicated car parks.

By entering this Agreement, the Hirer warrants and confirms to abide by all rules and directives published and updated by the government from time to time at https://covid19.govt.nz/. The Hirer understands and accepts that the Te Puna Memorial Hall may immediately terminate this Agreement if the Hirer breaches any of the government rules or directives.

Please leave the space how you found it
Please remove any strings or blu tac might have used to fix the decorations before you leave.
