Lake Leschenaultia is a must for a day trip or a picture-perfect weekend retreat for families and groups. Facilities at Lake Leschenaultia include powered camp sites (with easy access to a campers' kitchen), hot showers and toilets. There is also a nature playground, free electric barbecues, lawned picnic areas and hireable shelters. Enjoy a stroll around the lake, test your skills on the pump track, or one of the many mountain bike trails.

Group Booking Options:

Ideal for larger gatherings such as school camps or corporate retreats, our whole of campground booking option provides ample space and facilities for a memorable outdoor group experience. Enjoy the camaraderie of camping together, whilst soaking up the tranquillity and stunning bush surroundings.

Additional Equipment Hire:

Enhance your stay by hiring a canoe or stand-up paddle board. Hire is available during the warmer months (September-April), subject to weather conditions, on weekends, public holidays and summer school holidays - a perfect way to explore the crystal-clear waters of Lake Leschenaultia!

Rules

  • Check-In and Check-Out Times:

    • Check-in time is from 12pm, and check-out time is by 10am

    • Campers are required to register, pick up gate key and pay any additional fees at the Park Office between 3.30pm and 5pm. Late arrivals by prior arrangement only. Strictly no arrivals after 8pm

    • If you need to leave the park after-hours, please ensure you lock the main gate (with your allocated facility key)

  • Campfire Regulations:

    • Campfires are permitted only in the designated fire pit during Burning and Restricted Burning Periods as indicated below (subject to seasonal variations).

    • Total fire bans and changes to burning restrictions, as advised by local authorities, MUST be observed

      Burning Periods (Indicative Only):

    • Prohibited Burning
      December, January, February and March
      NO campfires permitted
      The use of Weber-type BBQs, roasting pits, pizza ovens or any solid fuel coals or heat beads is not permitted during a Prohibited Burning Period

    • Restricted Burning
      April, May, October and November
      Campfires are only permitted after 6pm and must be out by 11pm and FULLY extinguished before midnight (fully extinguished means no heat, smoke or steam and no white ash)

    • Unrestricted Burning
      June, July, August and September
      Campfires are permitted only in the fire pit provided at each campsite

    • No collection of firewood is permitted within the park grounds

  • Visitors:

    • Lake Leschenaultia is a family friendly campground in a nature reserve. It is not a party venue. Guests displaying anti-social behaviour will be asked to leave the campground immediately.

    • Campgrounds have a 10pm noise curfew. Campers are required to respect this.

    • Only the nominated number of people on the booking are allowed to camp overnight on the booked site. Visitors must leave before park closing time.

    • An onsite caretaker is available to assist campers, monitor behaviour and evacuate the campsite in the event of an emergency.

  • Age Restrictions:

    • At least one parent or guardian must be present and responsible at all times for young people under 18 years of age

    • Bookings for groups of unaccompanied young people will not be permitted and proof of age may be required

    • Parents are responsible for their children (for their safety and the comfort of others)

  • Wastewater:

    No wastewater is to be discharged onto the ground. Internal plumbing can only be used in camping vehicles that have a greywater tank installed and that this tank must be emptied off site. There is NOT a dump point at the campground or surrounding area.

  • Group Activities and Events:

    Organised group activities or events require prior approval from campground management. Please coordinate with staff to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests.

  • Pets:

    Dogs and other pets are prohibited at the lake.
    Except where a dog is approved in writing by the Shire or are registered Assistance Dogs (an authorisation card must be carried when entering the park).

  • Compliance with Rules:

    Failure to comply with campground rules may result in eviction without refund. Your cooperation ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Parking and Public Transport Information

Lake Leschenaultia is located at 2135 Rosedale Road, Chidlow, just 45 minutes east of the Perth CBD and is accessed via Great Eastern Highway. In most instances on-site parking is available. The tent-only campground provides a separate, dedicated parking area for campers.
